STORIA DELLA CANZONE:
“Something” venne incisa dai Beatles nel 1969 che la portarono al terzo posto della Hot 100 di Billboard.
Harrison prese la prima strofa della canzone dal brano “Something in the way she moves” di James Taylor.
Sembrerà incredibile ma la prima registrazione in assoluto di questa canzone fu di Joe Cocker, sempre nel 1969 anche se quella dei Fab Four venne pubblicata per prima. I Beatles iniziarono la registrazione prima di Cocker ma la terminarono solo a metà agosto del 1969. Il demo di Joe Cocker è datato 26 febbraio 1969 ma fu pubblicato postumo (1996 in “Anthology 3”) in quanto non venne inteso per una commercializzazione.
Nel 1970, sia Shirley Bassey che Booker T. E gli M.G. ebbero rispettivamente due popolari esecuzioni di “Something”.
